The Boston Orchestra Book Club is the Greater Boston area’s newest community orchestra, dedicated to creating community and lowering barriers to entry within the orchestral world for performers, audiences, and composers alike, through fun, low-stakes events.
We are absolutely thrilled to be presenting our first concert on July 30th, a discussion and performance of Sibelius’ magnificent 5th symphony, contextualized with excerpts from some of the Finnish composer’s other orchestral works.
Join us at Arts at the Armory in Somerville at 3pm for a fun afternoon of music and drinks. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, and can be purchased via Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/book-club-sibelius-5.
If you are able to give, we would greatly appreciate any donations. Getting an orchestra off the ground—especially one with as big goals as ours—takes the generosity of many people. Additionally, a portion of proceeds from this concert will go to the Community Music Center of Boston in support of excellent music education in the Greater Boston area and to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in memory of Sam Stern.
We are able to accept tax-deductible donations via Fractured Atlas: https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/boston-orchestra-book-club
Tickets are limited, so get them now!
